The legendary footballer Lionel Messi has been residing in Florida for almost a year now, arriving last summer through a free transfer. During this time, he has completely transformed the previously struggling MLS team into a dominant force, currently leading the league in points despite playing one more game than their competitors.
Upon his arrival at Inter Miami, Messi wasted no time in making an impact, prompting the team to bring in quality players to complement his skills. This winter, they acquired Argentine defender Marcelo Weigandt to strengthen their squad, replacing DeAndre Yedlin.
Weigandt has quickly become a key player for the team, featuring in nine games already in the MLS. The 24-year-old expressed his excitement at playing alongside his illustrious countryman for the first time, noting how Messi’s presence motivates and pushes the entire squad to perform at their best.
